When I first got hired, Captain Quigley made me a set of thru-the lock pliers for my gear. They have been used to shut of gas meters, unbolt battery terminals on accidents and to get access for non-conventional forcible entry. These channellock 9 1/2" V-jaw pliers are specifically modified for the non-conventional use on Adams-rite style locks.
